Artwork

What is "straight-line" type or copy?

When you order an item with straight-line copy, you are not using a logo or special artwork. Instead, your message is set and printed using available typefaces, in your choice of layout. Usually, you can choose which line can be largest or smallest, italicized, bolded, etc.  Unless otherwise indicated, there is usually no extra charge for straight-line copy. 

What is Camera-ready art?

If you want to have special artwork or a logo printed on your promotional product, you will need to submit what is known as "camera-ready" art. This is clear, sharp, high-contrast, color separated black and white art that needs no touch-up. If a minor touch-up is needed, a small art charge may be incurred. If your art needs extensive touch-up, you will be notified in advance with an estimated charge.

Camera-ready art is not:

  • A photo copy or fax
  • Letterhead, business cards, magnet, paper bags, yellow page ads or other printed items
  • Laser-printed copy less than 1,000 DPI (1,000 DPI or greater is acceptable)
  • Art in which portions need resizing & repositioning
  • Art with smudges, marks or rough/bumpy areas.

Can I submit artwork electronically or via disk?

Yes, but you should contact customer service first to check on preferred file formats. The formats may differ depending upon which item you are ordering. A hard copy of the artwork should also be supplied. If you use Quark Express and are ordering mousepads, you may contact customer service to download a template to help you layout and submit your order.

How can I pay for my order?

We have secure online ordering, where we accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.  You can also pay via check or money order. First time and online orders normally require pre-payment. Upon credit department approval, some organizations may also be able to establish open account status and/or order with a company purchase order.

Secure Online Shopping

I'm paying by credit card. Is this safe?

Our shopping cart feature uses the latest in encryption technology to ensure that hackers cannot access transactions with your credit card numbers. The encryption software on your browser is called a public key and it codes the message so it can only be opened with our private key. This way, even if a hacker manages to intercept that one of hundreds of thousands of e-mails sent at that second, your message can’t be unscrambled without our private key.

At the top of the shopping cart’s order form screen, the beginning of the address reads https:// instead of the usual http://. The 's' means that the site is encrypted and the data will be transmitted securely.

If you are using Netscape Navigator as your browser, a broken key or an open padlock (depending on the version of your browser) is at the bottom lefthand corner of your screen. Microsoft Internet Explorer has an open padlock at the bottom lefthand corner of your screen. When a site is secured, the key on Netscape’s browser appears unbroken (or the padlock appears locked) and the padlock on Internet Explorer appears locked.

When you check out, a message might pop up and warn you that the data you are about to submit may not be secure. This is a standard message that is part of your browser package. Rest assured that it is secured on our site, and hit "OK" to continue.

Cost of Order

What will my total cost be?

First of all, we offer a discount to all internet customers that doesn't appear in your shopping cart.   After you submit an order via your shopping cart, you will be contacted by our customer service department. Please remember that the total price shown in your shopping cart is for merchandise only and doesn't yet include the internet discount. It doesn't include (if applicable) any setup charges, art charges, shipping charges, state required taxes, rush charges or any other additional charges.  Any applicable charges will be communicated prior to processing the order.

Customer service will confirm the details of your order, including the internet discount price, the cost of any other special charges to imprint your message, any deadline dates, and your preferred shipping method. Your final order will be confirmed in writing, either via fax, mail, or email.

When will my credit card be billed?

Because we are making custom items for you, your credit card will be charged after the final order is confirmed to you. At that time, you will be billed for the cost of the items ordered and any other known charges. After your items are shipped, you will be charged for shipping. On rare occasions, you may be billed for other art or extra charges (these are generally communicated to you in advance). You will also either be credited or billed for any underruns or overruns on your order.

What are Overruns/Underruns?

While many of our products can be made in only the exact quantity you order, sometimes there are overruns (a few more items than you ordered) or underruns (a few less items) due to the printing process used for your item.   Being credited or billed for these items is standard industry practice.   Generally, overruns and underruns are kept to ±4%.  A few products, such as plastic or paper bags, have an overrun or underrun of up to 30%.

Web Specials

Why can't I order Web Specials using your shopping cart?

Web Specials are special values we give to customers who find us online. These special prices change frequently, so they don't appear in our standard online product database. Since our secure shopping cart is tied to our database, you need to order these by letting our customer service staff know of your interest. Since we want every transaction to be secure, we will get the information from you via phone or fax to process your order and credit card.
Never send credit card information via email.

Correct Order

How do I know that my order will be correct?

Jet Specialties Co. has been in the promotional products business since 1965. We take every possible measure to ensure accuracy on every order. We will provide written quotes, order acknowledgments, art approvals, and shipping acknowledgments to keep you informed of the status of your order.

Since you are having custom products made, you need to take the time to read your order acknowledgement. If you have a question about the exact color of a product, a sample can be shipped prior to order finalization. You can also arrange for a black & white or color proof on most items.

Production Time

When will I get my order?

The items are usual shipped 2 to 4 weeks after your complete order is processed, depending on the product. Customer service will let you know the approximate production time for your order.   Of course, you need to add time for shipping.  Shipping time depends on which one of our factories across the country are producing the order and how it is shipped. 

You should always let us know if you have a special event or deadline date for receiving your order.   Then, we can confirm whether we can meet that production date and discuss any special express shipping needs in order to make certain you receive your items on time.

Rush Service

Is there RUSH SERVICE?

Yes, on most items, we can provide rush service.  Some items can be produced in as little as 48 hours.  While sometimes we can provide rush service at no extra charge, usually there will be a special rush charge.  You may also need to have your items shipped via express service in order to ensure timely deliverly.  Always let us know if you have a definite use date or special event, so that we can ensure timely delivery and discuss product and shipping options with you.

What are Promotional Products?

Promotional products or advertising specialties are any item you can have imprinted with your organization’s logo or message and give away for free. You can use them to advertise your company, promote your organization or recognize your employees. Searching For Promotional Products

Searching for products on our site is easy. For popular products, like wearables or computer products, click on the icon in the Jet Quick Search area on the home page.  You can also search our full online catalog by clicking on the product search link on the home page, on the left navigation bar, or at the top of some pages. 

You can narrow down your product category search 3 ways:

  • By Keyword: Just type in the word specifying what you are looking for. For example, if you are searching for denim clothing, select the clothing category then type in the word denim in the word search field. This search will bring up just the product lines that have denim clothing.
  • By Price Range: Do you have a budget? You can find particular items in your price range.
  • By Production Time: Do you need you products this week or in 8 weeks? Find only the items that meet your needs with this function.

The product lines that carry the products you are looking for will be listed. Select the product line you are interested in and review their product listing. To view the item and the quantity pricing, click on the highlighted item number.

Shopping Cart

Adding Products to the Shopping Cart

If you would like to buy or just need additional information about a particular product, add it to your shopping cart by selecting either "Buy Item" or "Need Info" on individual product pages. Your shopping cart list will be sent to us to process your order. If you are buying the item, we ask that you select the quantity you would like to order, color and size information and custom imprinting instructions. Once completed, you can review the contents of your shopping cart where the pricing of your items are calculated. The pricing on our site does not include additional pricing, such as set-up charges, shipping, taxes, etc.

Sending Your Shopping Cart

After you finish adding products to your shopping cart, select the "Shopping Cart" button. By selecting the "Check Out" button, you will arrive at an order form to complete your check out process. Fill out the secure order form with your shipping and billing instructions. Your order or request for information will automatically be sent and we will contact you shortly. At that time, we'll let you know about your internet discount and any other relevant charges. We will never process the final order until we have confirmed the prices with you.
